Can you believe it's been four months?

I can't believe that Sophia will be sixteen weeks on Saturday, and it's been six weeks since I've had the chance to update the blog. There will be lots to tell, and lots of pictures. I just hope I can remember it all...

Completely adorable at 11 weeks.

I've been back at work for about 4 weeks now. Overall, I'd say it's going well. It can be hard and tiring, both working and caring for a baby, but I'm slowing getting back into my groove at work. Slowly it's getting easier to get ready for each day and each week.

See, she fits in my briefcase, so technically, I should be allowed to take her with me to work.

On June 2, 2007, Sophia was baptized. But this was no ordinary baptism. The parish The Husband and I reside in is rather Old School Catholic. The Husband and I were not married in the Catholic church. As many of you know, we had a civil ceremony in Napa when we were married in 2003. We renewed our vows with Elvis in November 2006. But in order to have Sophia baptized, we had to exchange vows AGAIN, in the house of God.

Now, there was a certain amount of hoop-jumping to go thru in order to get married for a third time. But I didn't care. I'd marry The Husband over and over again, and it was just one more chance to promise to try and be good to him and by him. I don't grow tired of marrying him....I know there was some jokes that hopefully this will be the last time we get married, but I hope that it is not. Maybe next time we can renew our vows with a Vegas Showgirl!!

So, The Husband and I get married in a 5 minute Catholic ceremony, then turn around and take Sophia up to the baptismal font in order for her to be baptized. My friend Deana, reprising her role as matron of honor (formerly the maid of honor) and my brother Sean were the godparents. My brother Martin stood in as The Husband's best man for the wedding.

After the baptism, we had a little party at the house. Of course, there was a "God Bless Sophia" cake. Can't have a baptism without a "God Bless the Baby" cake, right?

Overall, the weekend was a little crazy- everyone came in to see Sophia. It was the first time she met her Grandpa Marty and her Uncle Marty. Sean had seen Sophia when she was only a few days old, and it was Gina's first time meeting her. Deana and Jason came in, meeting Sophia for the first time. Deana is expecting in September, and demonstrated her natural mothering skills!

As for the rest of the time, Sophia just keeps getting bigger. She sleeps through the night every night now. She takes loooong naps during the day- which is wonderful for us. She holds her head up really well and is just starting to roll over. She's done it twice, but I think it might have been a fluke. She napped one day on her hand, waking up with what looked like a smack mark on her face. So no, I didn't slap my baby. But it is sort of funny....

All pics at 14 weeks

She's become more aware of her surroundings, so she likes mirrors and mobiles now. Her swing has a mirror on the mobile, so this is what happens when we put her in the swing-

She's vocalizing more and more, making humming and singing noises. The past few days she's started to make noises sort of like a squacking noise. But when she does it, she opens her eyes and mouth really wide, like she's surprised and is about to gasp. I keep insisting that one day I'm going to wake up, and she's just going to be speaking in full sentences.

12 weeks

But the funniest achievement of all has to do with how big Sophia is now. She officially weighs more than Chloe. It took 4 months, but Sophia weighs 1 lb more than my big old Chloe
